Ordering Medication  

Q. What currency are your prices quoted in?
All prices are quoted in U.S. Dollars.


Q. Can you fill prescriptions from Doctors not in Canada?
Yes. We do require you to complete and sign our patient questionnaire/order form, and mail or fax it to us along with your prescription. Once our doctor has reviewed and approved your prescription under his/her authority we are able to fill the prescription. This is done on our customers' behalf at no additional charge.


Q. Is a prescription required?
Yes. We require a prescription for all medications. Just like your local pharmacy we require a valid prescription from a physician licensed to practice in your area of residence.


Q. My prescription is for a different quantity than what you carry, can you fill my prescription?
Yes. Customers should not alter their prescription in any way.


Q. Do you fill prescriptions for pets?
Yes. Summitmeds does fill medication orders for animals.


Q. Can an order be cancelled?
Yes. An order can be cancelled if the order has not been shipped out of the pharmacy. Once the order has been shipped the medication can't be returned.


Q. How do I receive the necessary forms for ordering?
You can either download forms from Summitmeds.com or you can request (phone toll free 1-888-336-0050) to have a list of current prices and forms sent out to you by mail or fax.


Q. If I am already an existing customer, do I need to send all of the forms with my new prescriptions?
No. Only the Re-Order Form should accompany every new prescription order.


Q. How do I place my refills for my medications?
Refills can either be taken over the phone by calling our Customer Service Centre Toll Free at 1-888-336-0050, by sending in a Fax Toll free at 1-888-336-7037, or using our Online Re-Order Form. Please state the Rx number of the refill, the drug name you are requesting, along with your name and address, phone number, quantity required and method of payment.

Q. Why are your prices so low?
Our prescription pricing is often lower than drug prices in the U.S. for several reasons. The first reason is the strong U.S. dollar compared to other countries around the world and secondly most other governments utilize price controls on pharmaceuticals and cap subsequent price increases.


Q. Are all drugs less expensive?
Most, but not all medications are less than what you would pay at home.


Q. What sort of quality standards does Summitmeds have for medications?
Summitmeds has very strict requirements for the quality of all medication it dispenses. We only accept quality medicines from countries where there standards are considered to be among the highest in the world. All medications are produced in government approved facilities.


Q. Why do some medications have different names in other countries?
These are brand names registered by the manufacturer. In different countries the very same manufacturer as in the USA will often use different brand names. These same manufacturers may also change the appearance of the medication as well. (For example Prilosec (Astra USA) Losec (Astra Canada) or Aciphex (Janssen-Ortho USA) and Pariet (Janssen-Ortho Canada)).


Q. Why can't I buy Valium, Tylenol #3 or similar medications from your pharmacy?
We legally cannot ship any narcotic or controlled substance across the border. We also will not sell any habit-forming medications.


Q. What is a "generic" drug?
Generic drug is the exact same medicine as the "name brand" product but made by a competing company. While many people believe that "generic" drugs are somehow a different medication, they are not. They are the exact same medications, available at a much lower price.


Q Are all medications available?
No. We do however have the majority of medications available in Canada, USA and England. Payment and Billing  

Q. What currency am I billed in?
All prices are quoted in U.S. Dollars and all credit cards are charged in U.S. Dollars.


Q. How do I pay for my order?
We accept Visa and MasterCard. We also accept check or money order; however, we must verify the check or money order prior to shipment of the order.


Q. When do you bill my credit card?
Billing is done just prior to order being shipped.


Q. Can you bill my credit card from outside the U.S.A.?
Most of the time we can charge your credit card without any issues, but some credit card companies block charges to your card that originate from a foreign country. Payment cannot be collected even when the correct credit card information has been provided. We suggest you contact your credit card company to notify them that you expect a charge from Summitmeds, and ask them to remove any blocks on that charge.


Q. Will you accept my insurance?
Unfortunately no. Summitmeds cannot accept insurance. We can provide you with a proper receipt for insurance purposes. Please contact your insurance company for details.


Q. Are there any other fees other than the drug cost and shipping/handling?
No. The physician review and pharmacy dispensing fees are included in our drug prices. THERE ARE NO HIDDEN FEES!

Shipping 

Q. Does Summitmeds meet all of the legal requirements in order to ship medications into other countries?
Yes. Summitmeds meets all legal requirements to ship prescription drugs into other countries. We use I.P.S. (International Pharmacy Supplier) licensed pharmacies to fill all our orders and our pharmacies are licenced and regulated by the local pharmacy boards.


Q .How long will it take to process my order and ship my drugs?
Your order may take between 1-2 weeks from receiving the prescription and all required documents provided that there are no problems with your order (e.g. missing information, prescription refills, credit card processing difficulties).

 

Q. Do I get charged a shipping charge for each prescription?
No. The shipping charge is for each shipment.


Q. What is the shipping charge?
Shipping and handling charge is $10.00 US for each order, not each prescription. Multiple Orders (ex. spouses,children) from the same address ordered at the same time may be shipped together and charged only one $10.00 US shipping fee.


Q. Are there any other fees other than the drug cost and shipping/handling?
No. THERE ARE NO HIDDEN FEES!


Q. What countries do you ship medications to?
Summitmeds will supply medications worldwide.
